Our mid-week prompts, for those writing along with the group!

First, self-care! Stretch, make yourself some tea, drink some water.

Set your timer for whatever feels comfortable for you – I would suggest our usual 15 minutes, with the option to keep writing past that time if it feels comfortable. Before you start writing, take a moment to be in your body. Feel what it is like to be present with yourself. Write from this presence – write about what your chair feels like, how your feet feel, how your hands feel on the keyboard or the pen, where there is tension in your body, or where your muscles are relaxed and calm. If your writing extends either outward (to your clothes, your physical space, your external world) or inward (to your emotions, your memories, and your internal world) allow that movement to happen but keep yourself grounded in your physical body. Come back to your body throughout your writing time.

Your second prompt is another physical one, but taken from the outdoors. Fall is here, with its crisp weather and changing leaves. Write about transition. Between seasons, or between states of being.

Happy writing!
